The topic is not yet well defined, as I find myself at the beginning of my thesis. The following path is probably going to be the one that I am going to follow: From the 1930s to 1991 the UIAA has a commission that deals with snowslide. This institution soon aquires a lot of knowledge in the field, becoming the center of an international exchange in the topic. How has it developed and in which way the sharing of knowledge in this field has contributed to the creation of an international community bond by the mountains? Which role has Switzerland played in all this? How does this fit into the political and social changes that have occorred between the 1930s and 1991?
